Sitting Room of his Home

Watercolour   1997
Sitting Room of his Home The artists's own sitting room. Richard Bawden is particularly well-known for his prints and watercolours, and is especially interested in interiors where, as this example shows, he finely catches the special quality seen in many of the North West Essex artists

Splash in the Pant

Lithograph
Splash in the Pant The picture recalls an incident when Richard's parents and the Ravilious family were caught "skinny-dipping" in the River Pant just outside Great Bardfield.  Even more entertaining is the fact that the policeman lived next door to the Bawden's home, Brick House.  However Tirzah Ravilious wrote later that she did not really enjoy the episode, as she did not think she was beautiful enough to appear naked.
